SAGE STEAM Camp Supporters
All support is needed to ensure that students from across Oklahoma have the opportunity
to experience the SAGE STEAM Camp at SWOSU. Monetary and in-kind contributions provide
the SAGE STEAM camp with the resources to offer high quality educational opportunities
to middle-school-aged students. Your support also enables former campers to return
as mentors when they are in high school, plus affords stipends and scholarships to
college-aged counselors who ensure the safety and promote the personal and professional
growth and development of campers.
For the 2022 camp, an estimated $68,000 needs to be raised -- approximately $9,000 will come from the $200 registration fee paid by the 50 campers (anticipating financial aid will be offered to several campers). This includes an estimated $12,750 to support the new Educator's Professional Development Program, which enables up to ten Oklahoma K-12 teachers to attend a day-long training program and two days of camp, plus receive a stipend and supply allowance, to integrate STEAM into their classrooms. This program was piloted with seven teachers in 2021 and is currently being planned for 2022. In these ways, the STEAM Team will provide a two-pronged approach in providing hands-on opportunities in STEAM across Oklahoma -- through camp and in the classroom.

Ways to Give
Monetary Donation
Approximately $1,100 per camper (which includes the $200 camper registration fee) is needed to ensure the best possible camp experience. Funding is needed to remove socioeconomic barriers, thus enabling students from diverse backgrounds to have the opportunity to experience STEAM.
Volunteers
In addition, we are seeking volunteers to present a workshop or on-site activity and to identify Oklahoma students for campers. Volunteers also serve as role models. Campers people who have successful careers in a STEAM-related field who inspire them to also pursue a career in the field.
Supplies & Camp Necessities
School and art supplies are needed to make SAGE STEAM Camp a success. We can always use: pens, pencils, highlighters, colored pencils and markers, sharpies, sticky notes, journals, water bottles, pencil holders, team bandanas, small flashlights, luggage tags, ponchos, etc.
