Music Therapy Program at SWOSU
Established in 1980, SWOSU is the only university in the state offering both undergraduate
and graduate music therapy degrees. Graduates of the program are eligible to take
the national Certification Examination for Music Therapists for the credential of
Music Therapist-Board Certified and for Oklahoma’s Licensed Professional Music Therapist.
Music Therapy provides those holding a bachelor’s degree in Music Education the opportunity
to fulfill the music therapy competence requirement of the American Music Therapy
Association.
