Students receive nationally accredited training with over 20 clinical training options and serving people from infants to the elderly in various, dynamic settings. In addition to performing and competition opportunities, students are frequent presenters for research discussions around the globe. SWOSU also offers a Master of Music in Music Therapy.
what makes it great?
Music Therapy is an established health profession that strategically uses music experiences to address clinically determined therapeutic goals related to the communicative, physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals. Students in the Vocal/Keyboard Emphasis choose voice or keyboard as their primary performance area and develop high level performance skills in ensemble, chamber and solo settings integrated to address various therapeutic objectives in clinical settings.
