The Department of Music serves a student body of approximately 130 music majors. What's more, many non-majors choose to get involved in our music programs by playing in our ensembles as well. The department is small enough to feel welcoming, yet large enough to offer a rigorous curriculum that helps students reach their professional goals and employment. We offer music degrees at the bachelor's and master's levels.
Our highly skilled faculty members offer expert, applied instruction in woodwinds, brass, keyboard, percussion, strings and voice. And SWOSU's wind ensembles, choral ensembles, orchestra, jazz ensembles and chamber ensembles are recognized as being outstanding in the Western Oklahoma region.
