Kickstart your pharmacy career with SWOSU's RxPath High School Early Assurance Program! High school juniors and seniors can secure a spot in the SWOSU Doctor of Pharmacy program by maintaining a strong GPA and gaining pharmacy experience. Enjoy personalized learning, dedicated advisors, and fun events while preparing for a successful future.

The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) College of Pharmacy offers the RxPath High School Early Assurance Program which provides high school juniors and seniors with a unique opportunity for conditional acceptance into the SWOSU Doctor of Pharmacy program.

To be eligible for the RxPath High School Early Assurance Program, students must:

  1. Maintain a minimum high school GPA of 3.50 and good academic and disciplinary standing.
  2. Fulfill one of the following requirements: attendance at one SWOSU College of Pharmacy high school recruiting or workshop event; completion of at least 4 hours of pharmacy job shadowing documented by the supervising pharmacist; or having a current or prior history of employment in a pharmacy setting.

After graduation from high school, accepted RxPath Program students are admitted to SWOSU and must successfully complete specified SWOSU general education and pre-pharmacy courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 (two years depending on qualified concurrent coursework) and complete a satisfactory interview before matriculation into the Doctor of Pharmacy program (four professional years).

RxPATH students have a dedicated advisor who will arrange for enrollment in required courses, as well as access to a variety of College of Pharmacy events and activities, such as workshops, seminars, and fun gatherings. RxPath students also have a designated pharmacy student mentor to guide students with questions about courses, the Doctor of Pharmacy program, and the profession of pharmacy.

The SWOSU College of Pharmacy is distinguished by a supportive family environment, small class sizes that foster personalized learning experiences, outstanding faculty who are accessible, and high board passing rates exceeding national averages. Doctor of Pharmacy students can also pursue dual degree options combining pharmacy with an MBA or MS in Health Information Management. Tuition costs at SWOSU are below national averages for both in-state and out-of-state students, with various scholarships and financial aid options available. In addition, a new state-of-the-art pharmacy building is scheduled to open in Spring 2026!
