Doctor of Pharmacy Program at SWOSU

The SWOSU College of Pharmacy continues to accept applications for Spring 2025 admission with classes beginning Monday, January 13, 2025!
We are also accepting applications for Fall 2025 admission.

The SWOSU College of Pharmacy admits students to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program twice yearly, both Fall and Spring. If you are not ready for Fall admission, then you can apply to begin studies the following Spring. With our unique twice-yearly admissions, students have the flexibility to begin Doctor of Pharmacy studies in the Fall or Spring!

To apply, click on the Admissions tab below, then click on SWOSU Application to enter the Admissions Portal and complete the application. Designate your program as Doctor of Pharmacy and select the semester and year in which you wish to be considered for admission.

The SWOSU College of Pharmacy has a Rapid Admissions Process.  After submission of a completed application with an uploaded unofficial transcript, qualified applicants will receive a timely interview invitation and an admission decision.Thank you for your interest in the SWOSU College of Pharmacy and our Doctor of Pharmacy program!

Established in 1939, the College of Pharmacy at SWOSU has positioned itself as one of the best educational values for pharmacy in the nation. SWOSU's Doctor of Pharmacy program provides a dynamic educational environment for students to develop the personal, professional and intellectual skills needed to advance the profession of pharmacy. Our graduates are reputable and successful leaders in all areas of the pharmacy practice.

The SWOSU College of Pharmacy provides a supportive, family environment with small class sizes and personalized learning. You will be able to interact with and get to know your instructors as well as the Dean!

A dual degree program is available for students to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy and a Master's in Business Administration or a Master of Science in Health Information Management. Students can also further distinguish themselves through a degree specialization program in Pharmacy Leadership, Innovation and Quality Outcomes, as well as specialty practice certifications. SWOSU is affiliated with Pharmacy Residency Programs, which provide opportunities for postgraduate training.

One of the most unique attributes of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy is twice yearly admission with the flexibility and convenience of beginning studies in the fall or spring.

After admission to the College of Pharmacy, students will spend four years studying pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacotherapy, including a year of rotations in a variety of pharmacy practice settings. Graduates earn both the Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences. SWOSU pharmacy graduates have consistently scored above the national average on licensing exams and are highly competitive and successful candidates for many different pharmacy career opportunities.

Spring Admission

Applications are accepted throughout the year until October 31 for admission in the following Spring semester.

Fall Admission

Applications are accepted throughout the year until July 31 for Fall admission.

Pharmacy

Prerequisites

Students must first complete two years of pre-professional study, including general education courses, as well as specific courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and math.

Unique Attributes

SWOSU has the only Doctor of Pharmacy program in the nation that admits twice yearly. We offer a 2 + 4 YEAR PROGRAM (two years of undergraduate study for pre-requisites and four years in the professional program).  We do not require or give preference to students with a degree.
