The President is the chief executive officer of SWOSU and is the principal administrative official responsible for the direction of all SWOSU operations. The President is directly responsible to the Board of Regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma for the general management of the institution. Authority to execute assigned areas of responsibility is delegated by the President to the Vice Presidents. The President is a member of the State Presidents' Council, which includes the Presidents of the 25 state institutions of higher education. The President is also a member of the Presidents' Council that includes Presidents of the six regional senior institutions.

The Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs is the senior administrative official responsible for the direction of the academic functions of SWOSU, including teaching, research, sponsored programs and continuing education, and libraries.

The Vice President for Student Services is the senior administrative official responsible for the direction of student affairs and services for SWOSU. The VPSS has direct supervisory responsibility for the Dean of Students’ Office (including Student Activities, Esports, Upward Bound, and the Student Government Association), Admissions and Recruitment (including New Student Orientation and Concurrent Enrollment), Academic Records’ Office (including International and Veteran Services), and the Center for Health and Well-Being (including Student Counseling Services, Student Health Services, Wellness Center and Intramural Activities).

The Public Relations & Marketing Office is responsible for all publicity of activities and events concerning the University as they relate to media sources. The office operates a news service for daily and weekly newspapers, radio and television stations, and the SWOSU web site. SWOSU PR & Marketing also communicates with various constituents through several social media sites. The office also assists in the promotion of events and projects on and off campus.

The Vice President reports to the President and administers institutional personnel policies and practices. The Vice President coordinates SWOSU-wide programs designed to ensure equality of opportunity for individuals without giving preference in opportunity to a group.

The Vice President for Strategic Partnerships forges and strengthens cooperative agreements and working alliances with community, industry, and organizations, leading to more student opportunities and a more substantial overall institutional impact on Oklahoma’s workforce. In the Director of Graduate Programs role, this position oversees student admission to the university’s graduate programs and assists with marketing and expanding the graduate programs.
