Theatre Program at SWOSU

SWOSU Theatre is a robust and practical professional training program. You will develop skills in acting, directing, script analysis, dramaturgy, and stage management. What's more you will also have the opportunity to gain specialist training in our design and technical labs. The Hilltop Theatre is a 300 seat Black box space which boasts a full- time scenic construction and painting lab, costume and textiles lab, and a kitted-out control booth with ETC lighting and state-of-the art audio equipment not only for live productions but also for radio plays and voice work. Students staff the labs, design the shows, and are heavily involved in community outreach. We produce 3-5 fully realized productions each season as well as a variety of smaller scholar talks, screenings, and other events.
