    What is Health and Physical Education?

    Health and Physical Educators are certified to teach Health and Physical Education from Kindergarten through 12th grade. They focuses on teaching healthy behaviors and total body wellness through nutrition, physical activity, and fitness in an active classroom setting.

    The Master's degree in Health and Physical Education focuses on creating a deeper understanding between you and the many current concepts in Health, Wellness, Nutrition and Education. The courses will help guide you toward creating those relationships and also provide research opportunities to explore others as well.

    The Master of Education degree program at SWOSU is designed to provide a professional course of study for students who have acquired a bachelor's degree in education and wish to improve their proficiency and skills as educators. Individuals who do not have undergraduate professional education prerequisites for the regular Master of Education degree program may pursue the Master of Education program for non-education majors. The program is designed for individuals who do not plan to obtain teacher certification, but wish to improve their educational background in certain academic disciplines (e.g., Art, English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, etc.).
