Social Work Program
General Information
Social work is an art, a science and a profession that helps people solve personal, group, family, and community problems. The major focus is on enriching living through improved human interaction.
Graduates are prepared for immediate entry into direct human service professional positions. The BSW is the only undergraduate major that educates students to be professional social workers. BSW graduates have knowledge, skills, and a value base that has been augmented by professional social work supervision in social services.
The BSW program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University serves area students' career goals. The program is both academically and professionally rigorous. It addresses an area in which there is current and long-term need and demand.
