Medical Technology is the branch of medicine which deals with laboratory tests, procedures, and the use of clinical laboratory equipment.

SWOSU at Sayre offers a program in Medical Technology leading to an Associate in Applied Science degree. Students completing this program satisfy all requirements for the national certification. To qualify for certification in medical technology, a student must complete all graduation requirements with a 2.0 overall grade point average.

The program is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools who helps establish educational curricula and standards.

The students are strongly encouraged to seek faculty advisement and obtain pre-enrollment packets as early as possible.

• Students should begin the hepatitis B vaccination series prior to the first fall enrollment.

• A physical examination is required prior to placement into clinical training.
