Ribbon Cutting Planned Monday for Crowder Lake Dam Rehabilitation Project

Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the Deer Creek Conservation District will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of the dam rehabilitation project at Crowder Lake University Park this Monday, July 2, at 3 p.m.

The ceremony will take place at Crowder Lake University Park south of Weatherford.

According to Dr. Chad Kinder, the rehabilitation project insures the safe existence of Crowder Lake for the next 100 years. The $5 million rehabilitation project included the replacement of the existing steel outlet pipe and draw down structure with concrete. The earthen spillway was replaced with a massive roller-compacted concrete structure.  

Refreshments will be served in the classroom building following the ceremony.
