Four SWOSU Choirs to Perform Thursday

Four Southwestern Oklahoma State University choirs will perform in concert this Thursday, December 1, on the Weatherford campus.
Featured choirs include the Southwestern Singers, Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus and Chamber Choir.
The concert is at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Admission is free, and the public is invited.
The SWOSU Men’s Chorus will sing selections by Henry Purcell, Alice Parker and a Finnish march by Jean Sibelius.
Southwestern Singers will perform a variety of seasonal literature from Finland, Spain, Russia and an Italian madrigal by Claudio Monteverdi.
Both the Men’s Chorus and Southwestern Singers are under the direction of Daniel Farris.
The SWOSU Women’s Chorus will sing selections by Brahms, Vaughan Williams and an arrangement of a Trinidad carol. Soloist for the Vaughan Williams number is Shawna Hardin.
The Chamber Choir will sing two Praetorius carols, a selection from “L’Enfance du Christ” by Berlioz, and arrangements of Catalonian and Nigerian carols. Angela Farris is the pianist for the Women’s Chorus and Anthea Lin and Janis South will accompany specific Chamber Choir selections. Percussionists are Tyler Paul, Jonathan Anzaldua, Enid Hennen and Jake Heck.
Both the Women’s Chorus and Chamber Choir are directed by Joyce Adams Curtis.
