Infectious Disease Emergency Simulation to take place at SWOSU
April 22, 2011
Southwestern Oklahoma State University will participate in an infectious disease emergency simulation on Friday, April 22, on the Weatherford campus.
Homeland Security and the Center for Disease Control have identified the need for all communities to provide preventative medication to 100% of their population if a large scale infectious disease emergency were to take place. Because SWOSU is a Push Partner that receives medication from Public Health authorities, the university would receive enough medication to dispense to all employees, their families and students.
Laura Smith, director of student health services, said SWOSU will receive mock medication on April 22 and will begin a drill at approximately 10 a.m. in the Wellness Center. Volunteers are needed to stop by the Wellness Center to fill out forms and receive mock medication.
For more information about the simulation, contact Smith at 580-774-3776.
