High Winds Force SWOSU Baseball Fans to Keep Score the Old Fashion Way
April 18, 2011

Just like across the state of Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford had its share of wind damage on April 15. One of the casualties was the SWOSU baseball scoreboard that was blown down by the high winds.

As a result, the SWOSU baseball games against East Central University were postponed one day and, without a scoreboard, fans had to keep score the old-fashioned way with rocks. At the time of this pic, SWOSU was ahead of East Central by a score of 4-3. The Bulldogs went on to sweep a three-game series with the Tigers. SWOSU Physical Plant Director Rick Skinner said estimated damage to the scoreboard is near $30,000. It is estimated the university had about $40,000 in damages plus a large cleanup effort.
