Young Girls Invited to Participate in Mentoring Program Through Miss SWOSU Pageant
September 29, 2009
Area young girls ages 6-12 are eligible to participate in a new mentoring program in conjunction with the annual Miss Southwestern Pageant on the Weatherford campus.
The girls will participate in the Miss SWOSU "Little Stars" program on-stage during the evening competition of the pageant scheduled for November 14.
As a participant, each girl will receive a crown, an official t-shirt, group photo, one pageant admission ticket and the opportunity to attend a bowling party with the pageant contestants. The fee to participate in the program is $50 and deadline for entries is October 14.
During the finale of the Miss SWOSU Pageant, two "Little Stars" will be named the newly crowned Miss SWOSU Oklahoma Stars. The girls have the opportunity to advance to the Miss Oklahoma Pageant as representatives from the Miss SWOSU Pageant.
"This is a great opportunity for young girls to have that walk-of-fame that they always dream about," said Miss SWOSU co-chair Debbie Brown. "Young girls are inspired by the pageant crown and process, and this opportunity will allow them to build friendships with other contestants and also build their self-esteem."
