SWOSU Pharmacy Group Hosting Health Fair This Saturday

The American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists chapter at Southwestern Oklahoma State University is having a health fair this Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Wellness Center on the Weatherford campus.

Vice President Rachel Ingram said the chapter has 90 flu shots that pharmacy students will be giving for $12 each. There will also be screenings for diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and doing bone density scans. All the SWOSU pharmacy organizations will have booths set up on the following topics:

• Cholesterol Screening
• Flu Shots
• Immunization information
• Diabetes Screening
• Blood Pressure Screening
• Heartburn Information
• Poison Prevention
• Smoking Cessation Information
• Vial for life
• Medication Disposal Information
• Healthy eating and health literacy
• Women’s Health Information
• Bone Density Screening
• Puppet Shows for kids

There will be pharmacists available to answer questions about medications, including drug interactions and side effects.
