Students and area residents will get to take a breather from the political campaign season when The Capitol Steps come to the Weatherford campus on October 15. These hilarious political satire humorists will tackle both sides of the political spectrum and is sure to put the “mock” in democracy. |
Reed Timmer is obsessed with severe weather and has chased more than 400 tornadoes and hurricanes, becoming one of the world’s leading experts on severe weather. He stars in Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers and his website, TornadoVideos.net (TVN), has a popular following. Timmer’s team is able to handle extreme conditions with his TVN vehicles, The Dominator and Raptor, which will also be at SWOSU for his presentation. |
“Jungle Jack” Hanna will be at SWOSU on February 26. The legendary animal expert and wildlife conservator has been seen by millions on talk shows like Late Night with David Letterman to increase public awareness about endangered animals. His best-selling memoir, Monkeys on the Interstate, shares his fascinating journey from childhood in a boarding school to becoming a zoo director, to his status as one of the world’s most beloved animal advocates. |
Tickets for Kunal Nayyar go on sale August 20, September 10 for The Capitol Steps, and January 23 for Jack Hanna.
Ticket prices are the same for all events except the Reed Timmer talk, which is free. Advance tickets for the other three events are $5 for SWOSU students, faculty/staff and emeriti; $10 for others; and $20 for all tickets at the door. All events begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center on the SWOSU campus.
Tickets will be available at the SWOSU Public Relations & Marketing Office, Room 205 of the Administration Building, and at the SWOSU Business Office, Room 109 of the Administration Building. Tickets can also be purchased with a credit card by calling (580) 774-3019.
SWOSU's Panorama series has been bringing outstanding events to the Weatherford campus since 1991. Panorama is partially supported by an endowed lectureship sponsored by SBC.
