Soccer Blanked by NSU

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University, winners in the last meeting with Northeastern State University, were not as fortunate this year as the Bulldogs fell 3-0 in a women’s soccer game Sunday in Weatherford.
The loss dropped SWOSU to 2-15 overall and kept them winless through eight matches in the Lone Star Conference. NSU improved to 6-7-3 overall and 3-3-2 in the league.
NSU attempted 21 shots, 10 of which were on goal. SWOSU attempted nine shots, five of which were on goal. Elyse Berta had three of the five on-goal shots for SWOSU.
NSU scored early when Brittany Nolan bounced one in off a feed from Ashley Badeen in the game’s second minute. The RiverHawks added another goal by Sarah Spencer in the 56th minute and the final goal in the 61st minute by Early Villegas.
The Bulldogs will close their home portion of their season Friday against Central Oklahoma before finishing the year Sunday, Nov. 2 on the road against Midwestern State.
