Soccer Closes out 2008 Season

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University finished its 2008 soccer season with a 6-0 loss to Midwestern State University Sunday afternoon in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The loss closes a disappointing campaign in which the Bulldogs finished the year with a 2-17 record and were winless in 10 Lone Star Conference matches. Midwestern State improved to 13-6 overall and became one of six teams that advanced to the LSC Tournament with a 7-3 record.

Midwestern State had six different players score goals as they peppered the SWOSU defense with 54 shots, 28 of which were on goal. SWOSU keeper Becky Hilterbran allowed six goals but ended up with a season-high 20 saves in her 90 minutes minding the net.

The Bulldogs managed six shots as a team, two of which were on goal.
