Soccer Loses to ASU

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University kept Angelo State within its sights for most of the game before two last-minute goals made the final 4-0 in favor of the Rambelles.

SWOSU fell to 2-12 with the loss and remained winless in five Lone Star Conference matches. The Bulldogs will next play Sunday at Abilene Christian University before returning home Friday, Oct. 24 to host East Central University.

ASU Brandie DeBacher scored in the game’s 85th minute and again in the 89th as the Rambelles broke open a tight 2-0 game with a pair of scores late. The victory improved ASU to 10-4-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

SWOSU managed eight shots with six of them on goal. Courtney Hailey produced half of the on-goal shots with three. ASU had 22 shots with 10 of them on goal.

The Rambelles took an early 1-0 lead in the game’s third minute when Jennifer Bukowski scored off a corner kick. Bukowski again tallied in the 15th minute to put ASU ahead 2-0 off an entry pass on the right wing.
