Men Place 6th at Fort Scott

FORT SCOTT, Kan. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University finished in sixth place at the recently completed Fort Scott Community College Rodeo. SWOSU collected 190 points and paced behind the event's host and winner, Ft. Scott, who scored 525 points. Northwestern Oklahoma State University was second with 485 points followed by Oklahoma Panhandle State University in third with 380 points.

Ft. Scott's win allowed them to slip in front of SWOSU in the Central Plains Regional Standings and move into fourth place with 1,320 points. The Bulldogs are in fifth at 1,240 points.  Panhandle State remains the top team in the region with more than 2,900 total points.

Bareback rider Justin Anderson was the top point producer for SWOSU in the rodeo. He finished fourth in the long run and then had an 83-point ride in the short run that won him first. He ended up second in the average. Teammate Dusty Gracia finished second in the long run but did not score in the short run and did not finish high enough to place in the average.

Other SWOSU cowboys who scored points were calf roper Matt Fleming who placed fourth in the long run of his event. He did not score in the long run or average. Jace Johnson finished sixth in the long run and placed sixth in the average

Finally, steer wrestler Greg Schaffeld finished third in the short run and placed third in the average in his event.

SWOSU will next compete April 2-4 at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo. SWOSU's own rodeo is the week following beginning its three-day run April 9.
