Women Climb Into 9th Spot

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern Oklahoma State University bettered its first-day score by 25 shots and climbed past one team to finish in ninth place at the St. Mary's Lady Rattler Roundup. The Bulldogs shot a second-day 350 to finish the 36-hole event with a team score of 725.
Tarleton State won the event with a two-day total of 618, 12 strokes better than second-place St. Edward's who finished with a 630. A total of 11 teams and 59 golfers participated in the tournament held at the Republic Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.
Tasha Marshall was SWOSU's top finisher placing 21st with back-to-back rounds of 83 for a 166. She was 21 shots behind the pace set by Stephanie Bird of Northeastern State who won medalist honors with a three-over par score of 145.
Other SWOSU golfers and their finish are as follows: Lisa Roche was 38th with an 89-83 for a 172; Krystal Marshall was 51st with a 101-92 for a 193; Amber Henderson was 52nd with a 102-92 for a 194; and Megan Miller was 54th with a 104-100 for a 204.
SWOSU will next compete at the St. Edward's Invitational in Austin, Texas beginning March 2.
