Women in 10th Place

DUNCAN, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University stands in 10th place at the halfway point of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Women’s Golf Tournament underway at the Territory Golf Club in Duncan, Okla.

The Bulldogs turned in a round of 347 and took a slim lead over 11th place East Central University and 12th place Newman University. The final 18 holes will be concluded Tuesday at the par 72, 6,044 yard course. A total of 12 teams and 72 golfers were competing in the event.

Tarleton State is the first round leader with a score of 286, 10 shots better than second-place Central Oklahoma. TSU had two golfers, Katy Ward and Carla Cooper, both shoot under par. Ward shot a four-under 68 while Cooper was second with a 70.

SWOSU’s best score came from Clinton’s Tasha Marshall who stood in 36th place with an 81.
