Men in Fifth Place Tie

KINGSTON, Okla. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University put two of its golfers in the top 10 and moved into a fifth-place tie with a second round 299 at the Texoma Championship. The Bulldogs were among 10 teams competing in the two-day, 54-hole tournament at the Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club in Kingston, Okla.

SWOSU has a 36-hole total of 607 and is tied with West Texas A&M for the fifth-place spot. The Bulldogs are just a handful of strokes from perhaps climbing as high as third with another solid round Tuesday.

Northwood University was the clear leader after the first day with a combined score of 581, 15 strokes better than second-place Cameron. Central Oklahoma is in third place with a 603.

Brad Leeper is the top SWOSU golfer through 36 holes. The Arlington, Texas senior had rounds of 73 and 74 and is in sixth place with a three-over 147. Teammate Dakota Brown is in a tie for 10th with a five-over, 149, after rounds of 78 and 71. Brown's 71 on the second round was bested by only one other golfer, Lucas Bogdan of Northwood who is the leader with a 136, six-under par.
