Men Finish 14th at St. Mary's

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern Oklahoma State University shot a final day 313 and kept hold of its 14th place standing in the St. Mary's Invitational men's golf tournament. The Bulldogs shot a 932 over 54 holes and two days of play at the Dominion Golf and Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
St. Mary's, the tournament host, won the event with a score of two-over par score of 866. The Rattlers finished 18 strokes ahead of second-place Dallas Baptist University and 21 strokes better than Lone Star Conference school Abilene Christian. A total of 17 schools and 95 golfers were entered in the tournament.
Donald Constable of the University of Texas won the individual title with a seven-under 209 after he shot a 68 on the final day. Matt Vale of St. Mary's was second with a five-under 211.
SWOSU's top finisher was Brad Leeper who turned in rounds of 75, 75 and 73 to finish with a seven-over par score of 223 and tied for 22nd place. Other SWOSU golfers and their finish are as follows: Dakota Brown was tied for 39th with a 13-over par score of 236 after rounds of 76, 76 and 77; Ben Claussen was 69th after rounds of 79, 80 and 78 left him at 21-over par 237; Jordan Hudson and Brad Dickson finished in a tie for 83rd with a 248, 32-over par. Hudson had rounds of 76, 84 and 88 while Dickson shot 82, 82 and 85.
The Bulldogs will conclude their fall season at the Texoma Championship beginning on Oct. 5. The tournament is hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State University and will be played at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club in Kingston, Okla.
