Men Finish 9th at DBU

DALLAS, Texas - Southwestern Oklahoma State University move past one team in its climb up the golf leader board tying for ninth-place at the Dallas Baptist University Invitational. The Bulldogs turned in a final day score of 308 and tied with Incarnate Word with a 54-hole score of 935.
Oklahoma Christian was the wire-to-wire winner shooting rounds of 290, 282 and 291 to finish at 863. The Eagles were 27 strokes better than second place Northwood Institute's score of 890. A total of 13 teams and 70 golfers were entered in the tournament held at the Golf Club of Dallas.
SWOSU's Luke Phillips was the top Bulldog golfer finishing in 33rd place. Phillips had rounds of 79-74-78 and finished at 231, +11 over par.
Oklahoma Christian's Tor Erik Knudsen was the medalist with a four-over-par score of 214 after rounds of 73-69-72. He finished one stroke ahead of teammate Fernando Gonzales and Cyril Bouniiol of Abilene Christian who each finished with a 215.
Other SWOSU golfers and their finish are as follows: Scott Kulczycki had rounds of 78-80-74 to finish at 231 and in 37th place; Ben Claussen had rounds of 76-83-75 to finish at 234 and in 44th place; Dakota Brown shot a 77-80-81 to finish at 238 and in 50th place; and Jace Weaver shot 82-83-81 to finish at 246 and in 57th place.
SWOSU will next compete April 6 and 7 at the University of Central Oklahoma Championships held at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, Okla.
