WEATHERFORD, Okla. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University football coach Dan Cocannouer announced the hiring of Dwayne Turner and Bradley Reents as the newest members of the Bulldog football coaching staff. Turner will serve as the graduate assistant in charge of running backs while Reents will oversee the wide receivers.
"We're excited about the addition of both Dwayne and Bradley to our staff," Cocannouer said. "Both are experienced football coaches who are the type of people we want teaching and leading our young men."
Turner, a graduate of Coalgate High School, played four years at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he was a member of the 2004 Lone Star Conference North Division Championship team. He played both linebacker and running back for the Savages and later earned a degree in health and physical education in 2005.
He coached previously at Leonard High School in Leonard, Texas before moving to nearby Hydro so that his wife, Melissa, could finish her education at SWOSU. The couple have two children, an eight-year old son, Dylan and a four-year old daughter, Ashlyn.
Reents is a native of Humphrey, Neb. where he was a multi-sport star for St. Francis High School. He played football, basketball and ran track. He was a member of state championship teams in both football and basketball at St. Francis.
Reents graduated from Central Oklahoma in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in science. He has been a teacher and a coach at both Yukon and Hobart Public Schools. His wife, Misty, is the middle school principal at Hobart. The couple have three children, two sons, Aaron (13) and Davis (4), and a daughter, Hannah (11).
