Team Preps for LSC Meet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University ran its final cross country meet prior to the Lone Star Conference Championships competing in the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.

Only a handful of non-NCAA Division I schools ran the 6,000 meter course which featured 34 teams and 267 runners.  SWOSU, the only LSC school in the event, finished 33rd with a team score of 891.

Texas Tech won the team competition with having its first four runners finishing first, third, fourth and sixth. Lillian Badura of Tech was the overall winner with a time of 20:31.

SWOSU's top finisher, just as it has been in the previous four meets, was freshman Chelsey Dillon who finished in 115th place with a time of 23:21.

Other SWOSU runners with their finish and time are as follows: Sarah Hix was 217th with a time of 25:41; Tatum Hoffman was 232nd with a time of 26:18; Micah Mathis was 242nd with a time of 26:54 and Melissa Banks was 247th with a time of 27:27; Carissa Curtis was 250th with a time of 27:33 and Lisa Garza was 254th with a time of 28:09.

SWOSU will next run Saturday at the LSC Championships held on the campus of West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. The Bulldogs will race on the same course that they ran on earlier this season on Sept. 12.
