Open Tryout set for May 23

WEATHERFORD - The Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball team will be holding open tryouts for players who have graduated from high school or a junior college on Saturday, May 23 at 11 a.m. at the baseball complex. Cost is $10 per participant.
All tryout participants must provide proof of a passed physical examination within the last six months or current academic year. Those who have attended college or currently are attending must provide an unofficial transcript. Those who have attended a four-year institution must provide an unofficial transcript and a written release from the institution.
All players will be timed in the 60-yard dash. Infielders and outfielders will be evaluated on their fielding, throwing and hitting.
Pitchers will throw in the bullpens and will be evaluated on their mechanics, off speed pitches, and fastball velocity.
Players are requested to bring their own gloves, shoes and bats. Baseballs will be provided and bats as needed.
The SWOSU baseball complex is located one mile north of campus on Caddo Road.
