Betrian Wins LSC Award

RICHARDSON, Texas - Southwestern Oklahoma State University pitcher Aldemar Betrian was selected as the Lone Star Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week for his efforts in leading the Bulldogs to a four-game sweep of Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Betrian, a freshman from Santa Cruz, Aruba, won his second straight decision and became the first SWOSU player to throw a complete-game shutout of an opponent with an 8-0 blanking of Southeastern in game one. Betrian scattered five hits while striking out six and walking two batters. He improved his record to 3-1 on the year.
Betrian leads the SWOSU team in ERA at 1.59. He has pitched 22 and two-thirds inning and allowed only four earned runs.
SWOSU (22-13 and 17-11 in the LSC) returns to action Friday beginning a four-game series with Eastern New Mexico. The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
