Ricky Kirby begins his first season with the Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball coaching staff after a successful career as a player for the Bulldogs.
Kirby played one season at SWOSU after transferring from Rose State Community College. He led the Bulldogs in hitting during the 2009 season with a .413 average. He also hit five home runs and drove in 48 runs while playing primarily third base and designated hitter.
