William G. Bernhardt, M.D.

Bill and Theta Juan Bernhardt are fourth generation Oklahomans. Dr. Bernhardt graduated from Omega High School in Kingfisher County. He attended Texas Christian University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the University Of Oklahoma School Of Medicine. He received a B.S. degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and a Medical Doctor (M.D.) at the University of Oklahoma.

The Bernhardt have four children and twelve grandchildren. Theta Juan’s current interests include engaging in church and community activities, and enjoying the twelve grandchildren.

Bill has spent his entire medical career in the Midwest City area. He has been involved in medical, community and church activities. He was elected Chief of Staff of Midwest City Hospital in 1972, and the President of Bill was pleased to have been selected “Family Doctor of the Year” by the Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians in 1986. He was selected by the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine Alumni Association to be “Practicing Physician of the Year in Oklahoma” in 1992.

Bill and Theta Juan are lifetime members of the SWOSU Alumni Association. In 1991, Bill was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus for SWOSU. Bill currently serves on the SWOSU Foundation Board of Trustees.

Dr. Bill and Theta Juan Bernhardt recognize the importance of higher education and feel that good educators and faculty should have greater recognition.
