Scholarships are gift-aid given to students based upon their meeting certain criteria. There are many opportunities to earn scholarship awards at SWOSU annually. These come from involvement in organizations on campus like Pep Band, Pom Pon Squad and Cheerleading; different departmental awards from Music, Language Arts and the Art Department; each of our various athletic teams; as well as academic honors awarded competitively for new freshmen, continuing students and new transfer students each fall semester.

Like grants, scholarships do not typically have to be repaid. It is an honor to be awarded a scholarship. This is not only a type of financial aid, but also something to write home about - and put on your resume!

New scholarship applications are regularly made available in the office of Student Financial Services. Please check periodically for new scholarship applications. A quick glance once a week can be a profitable venture!
