Campus Police
University Policy and State Law
Campus Police is the law enforcement division of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and is authorized by State Statute, Title 74, SS 306.11. In 1963, this state statute gave the Board of Regents authority to appoint peace officers.
The CAMPUS POLICE is charged with the responsibility of enforcing state laws as specified in state statutes.
The CAMPUS POLICE is charged with the regulation of parking and traffic on campus according to each revised edition of the Motor Vehicle Laws.
The CAMPUS POLICE must complete the administrative duties and record keeping necessary to carry out the above functions.
The CAMPUS POLICE develops and keeps updated an internal policy manual detailing the day-to-day policies for which officers are to be held accountable.
