Josh Williams

Josh Williams currently serves as a Fuels Specialist for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southern Plains Region. In this capacity Josh oversees prescribed fires on BIA and Indian Trust lands in all of Kansas, Texas and the western half of Oklahoma. From 2004 through 2009 Josh served as a Wildfire Prevention Technician with the BIA, Concho Agency Fire Management Office. Prior to this appointment Josh served as an Emergency Wildland Firefighter with the BIA for 3 years.

Mr. Williams holds a bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Education degree in Parks and Recreation Management from SWOSU. He has also completed ecosystem management courses through Utah State University and Colorado State University.

Josh has taken numerous wildland fire related courses and holds instructor status from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group.

He responds to wildland fire details nationwide, with his most recent assignment being a prescribed fire detail in south-central Florida where he obtained Prescribed Fire Burn Boss qualification.

He is also an adjunct professor at SWOSU, coordinating the Wildland Fire Management Program offered through the Parks and Recreation Management Department.
